There are multiple ways to germinate cannabis seeds. Germination rates will vary. Not all seeds are guaranteed to germinate. Our seeds all go through a germination test before they are brought to market. Below i will go over a few techniques to help with a successful outcome.
Moisture is key to a successful germination. Basically just soak your seed in a glass of room temperature water for anywhere between 24 and 48 hours. The seed should crack open and a little tail should start to grow. At that point gently place the seedling in your grow medium and keep it moist.
Moisten a paper towel and fold it over, you dont want it soaking wet but damp. Place the seed in the paper towel and fold it over. Place the paper towel in a ziplock bag and seal it. Then place it in a shoe box or a tupperware container. Store it somewhere that is dark and between 70 and 80 degrees. Helpful tip is to get a seedling heat mat. https://www.amazon.com/BN-LINK-Durable-Seedling-Heating-Thermostat/dp/B08BWZKTM9/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=WUCH9S1R9S1A&keywords=seedling+heat+mat+with+thermostat+controller&qid=1667226483&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI1LjIxIiwicXNhIjoiNC41NCIsInFzcCI6IjQuMzEifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=seedling+%2Caps%2C462&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1
There are plenty to choose from that is just one example. It could take anywhere between 12 to 72 hours. After the tail starts to grow , place seedling in your grow medium of choice.
Simply place the seed directly in your grow medium. Do not bury it , just kind of cover it and keep it moist. Some place a solo cup over it to create a moist environment. Over the next 72 hours just give it a little spray of room temperature water maybe twice a day.
Once the seed is sprouted, we recommend placing it in its forever home. Autoflowers are not meant to be transplanted. You can transplant but you run the risk of stunting the plant. Everyday counts when working with autoflowers.
With autoflowers we use a 18/6 light schedule, thru the whole cycle. Keep the lights at least a foot and a half to two feet above the plant. Feedings should be at quarter strength of what is recommened on whatever nutrients you choose to use. Everyone has their own brand they prefer, but we use a basic three part base micro, grow, bloom. In veg it would be very helpful to add a root enhancer of your choice. Healthy roots create a happy healthy plant. Temps should stay in the range of 75 to 82 degrees, and humidity should be in the 60 to 70 percent range.
A typical veg stage for an autoflower can last 2 to 4 weeks. Usually you will start to see preflowers around day 21. At that point you can start increasing the feeding and the strength of feedings. Autos do not require much so be careful not to over do it. We believe training is optional, but if you feel the need to do training maybe just some lst (low stress training) will do the trick.
Keeping the same 18/6 light schedule. As flowers start to bulk up lights should be about 2 feet above canopy. At this time you can up the strength of the feedings and start to add bloom boosters. Ph should stay in the range of 5.5 to 6.5 for hydroponics and 6.5 to 7 for soil. The plant will continue to stretch during early flower.
The temps should be in the range of 70 and 80 degrees with humidity coming down a bit to the 50/ 60 % range. Make sure to have fans running to keep the air moving. When lights go off for the night, try to stay in a ten degree range from your daytime temp.
We recommend to keep it simple. Autoflowers will do their thing , we just want to give them a little assistance along the way. Again everyone has their brand that they prefer. Just keep it to half strength of whats on the bottle, and add as needed. At this stage the plant will be drinking more often, so its best to just stay consistent with feedings.
Getting into the 70 to 80 day range the leaves should start fading and changing colors. Buds should be nice and plump with nice trichome coverage.
When you think your getting close to harvest, we slow down the feedings and just kinda start topping off the reservoir with plain water. You will notice the plant is not drinking as much anymore. Letting the plant use up whatever nutes it has stored up. Depending what medium you are using its time to start flushing. Basically thats just feeding with pure clean water. Pick off any dying leaves and get ready to harvest your hard work.
Once the plant has been properly flushed, give her the chop before the lights come back on. Hang upside down in a dark well ventilated area. Temps should be in the sixties with humidity no higher than 62%. This can take anywhere from 10 to 14 days. When the branches snap easily, cut down to size and place in a bucket with a gamma lid and seal shut for about 12 hours. After 12 hours open the bucket and leave the lid off for a few hours and keep repeating these steps till your happy with the moisture content.
